Our Work is Guided By a Set of Philosophies
& Principles

At Blackvan, everything we do, from the design of our workshops to the graphics on our knowledge tools and even the set-up of our environments, is done with purpose. Our work is guided by a set of philosophies and principles with the goal of ultimately accelerating our clients’ success.

Our mission is to help our clients tap the full power of their enterprise, both within and beyond their organization to respond to their most difficult challenges with real solutions predicated on thoughtful analysis, innovation, commitment, and action.

Knowledge is Not Enough

How much work went into collecting all that data? Wouldn't it be more
valuable if it were analyzed and transformed into information? And
wouldn't that information become more valuable if its relevance were
gleaned and transformed into knowledge? What next, though? Is there a more advanced level we can take our thinking to? We think there is. It's called experience.

Transforming knowledge into experience means transforming something learned into something believed. An experience of using new ideas makes it far more likely that they will be used in the correct context, ably and swiftly. To create this transformation, knowledge has to be touched, seen, heard, and most importantly, used.

More is More

As products and services become ever more complex and the amount of data and information needed to run a business increases, the need for businesses to fully utilize every resource within their enterprise becomes imperative. More connections and a stronger network within the company better leverage these resources. In addition, connections both inside and outside an organization enable the incorporation of more perspectives and access to widely dispersed expertise when solving a problem.

Innovation Can Come From Anywhere

Innovative thinking leads to good solutions. People need to be engaged on multiple fronts, to think both creatively and analytically, to be serious and to play, for innovation to permeate their thinking. Thoughtful process design makes a collaborative interaction produce light instead of heat, amplifying good ideas and iterating them quickly.

The Soft Stuff Can Be The Hard Stuff

People who contribute to building something feel ownership of it and take care of it. Astute analysis of a problem is not enough. It is participation in decision-making and the resulting buy-in that leads to the emotional commitment necessary to carry a decision forward on both an individual level as well as an organizational level.

A group knows more and is capable of more than the sum of its parts. Unleashing this potential requires the right process.

People who contribute
